Americans are watching more porn and having less sex during the pandemic, according to the latest data from the General Social Survey, a long-running barometer of American public opinion that's been administered every few years since the 1970s. In 2021, fully 26 percent of adults reported having sex zero times in the past year. That’s a record high, with the share of Americans reporting past-year celibacy nearly doubling since the mid-1990s, according to GSS data. It’s up three percentage points over the previous reading in 2018.
Pandemic stats seem to create a predicable course of events. More alcohol. Less (physical ability to have) sex. More porn. Makes sense to me.
