Where I live in central IN it is common to see flags flying that read "Take America Back! Trump 2024", "Jesus is my Savior, Trump is my President" (I'm just waiting for that one to morph into "trump is my savior") and bumper sticks that read "The only good liberal is a dead liberal" and "Fuck your BLM/feelings/_________". Do I think that some of my neighbors would not only willingly but gleefully engage in violence for their Dear Leader? Absolutely, especially since doing so under the banner of the Republican Party will not result in their arrest or charges.
I abhor what is happening to America. I think we are headed for some sort of violent confrontation on a national scale - maybe not an outright civil war but not just the occasional violent outburst. I hope I am wrong but if I go by the attitudes where I live, I won't be. The current administration needs to take this situation far, far more seriously than they are. Not backing the elimination of the filibuster, thinking that grassroots advocacy will be enough to overcome the massive amount of laws being changed so that the Republican thugs in Congress can steal our elections - the current admin has its head firmly in the sand on everything that is happening.
Need to check out Big Biz--Amazon, Apple--getting away with paying no taxes yet are almost never confronted. A sidebar, as always, are the Koch Brothers. They train and promote rightwing rhetoric, everything from Websites to Blog posts. The third and fourth layer of disinformation are Fox News and Rightwing AM radio stations: these are siren songs of Insanity!
