We should absolutely tax the wealthy more, but this misses the fact that the privatized space launch industry has been a tremendously good thing. We now have more launch capacity at much lower cost than ever before, which lowers the cost of NASA/scientific missions, defense missions, GPS deployment, satellite internet service deployment, and probably other future opportunities. the "billionaires in space" race is kind a stupid side show but we shouldn't discount the main benefit of having an efficient privatized space launch industry
